When you're constantly adapting to new places, you quickly learn to see things from different viewpoints. Whether it's figuring out how to navigate a foreign city or understanding local customs, you become really good at spotting patterns and figuring out what people need—skills that naturally carry over into UX.
Plus, when living out of a backpack you really can experience the beauty of simplicity and efficiency. Everything has to be well-organized and functional, which comes handy when designing—stripping away the unnecessary and focusing on what makes things work the best.
I was influencing users' behavior in digital marketing—now in UX I rather focus on listening and designing for them
In school and at work I've always been a bit of a generalist, trying to find the true fit I could be devoted to. During my time in marketing, I was all about strategy—SEO, lead generation, and crunching data. I loved the problem-solving side of it. I liked to understand how people think.
But more often than not, I was driving traffic to websites that didn't give visitors the best experience. That’s when I started diving into UX. I became fascinated by how design could have an impact and how even small changes could make a huge difference in how people interact with a product. It felt like I’d FINALLY found my thing.
It’s funny—looking back, I realize that my time in digital marketing gave me a pretty solid foundation for UX. I already had a knack for understanding what people wanted, and now I could take that even further by designing experiences that actually delivered on those insights.
My life is full of adventures
If it wasn't obvious enough yet, I’m drawn to travel—I'm oddly obsessed with airports and in love with flying. Each new country brings something exciting, whether it’s discovering unique foods, talking to the locals or tackling a mountain to climb.
I would say I naturally seek adventure, enjoying walks or hikes whenever the surroundings allow, and I embrace anything new that life brings.
But as a simple human being I equally appreciate the comfort of routines, a well-prepared flat white/cortado/piccollo and binge-watching reality TV on Netflix.
